Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this habitat restoration project - led by Crystal’s Environmental Quality Commission (EQC). The project will focus on removing invasive species such as buckthorn and garlic mustard from an oak woodland in Bassett Creek Park; but other restoration efforts will take place too.
Participants will be learning more about the area being restored, the benefits of habitat restoration as well as habitat restoration methods being used. In addition to removing invasive species; activities may include spreading seeds as well as planting bulbs, seedlings or trees.
Please sign up for as many open dates as you would like to participate in. A reminder will be emailed to you 2 days prior to the event. Please note that the restoration event will be cancelled during inclement weather.
All volunteers must be age 12 years or older and youth must be supervised by a responsible adult. Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes, long sleeve shirt and long pants; and bring water, sun screen, bug spray, etc. The city will provide tools for the project.
