Missions & Service
Roswell UMC will host up to four families on our campus from Sunday, August 22-29, 2021.
Guests arrive Sunday afternoon, are served dinner each evening and sleep as a family in the Dodson Center first floor rooms converted to bedrooms for the week. Children leave for school and parents for the Day Center around 7 a.m. each weekday morning, and return to RUMC around 6 or 7 p.m. Guests relax on Saturday, pack up before Sunday School, join us for worship, and then head to the next congregation in the afternoon.
For guests, Family Promise provides a safe, homelike shelter where families can stay together.
For volunteers, Family Promise provides a personal interaction with the families as well as an avenue to share the love of Christ.
What can I do: Provide and host dinner, set up or take down guest rooms, stay overnight, wash linens, welcome homeless children and their parents as guests, shop for supplies, do laundry.
Who can serve: Volunteers of all ages are needed, following all Family Promise Covid-19 guidelines. Volunteers interacting directly with guests must attend training in advance.
If you are not able to join us in person, join us virtually for this training!
