First UCC Hospitality Team
Help build community through caffeine & cookies by hosting coffee hour after Sunday morning worship. Simply follow these 4 easy steps:
1. Ask yourself "Do I want to make or order treats?" Either is ok! Either choose to make 10-12 dozen treats -OR-email Gladys at [email protected] at least 1 week before your hosting date and she will place the order with Brick Oven (note: check with Gladys about whether to pick up treats at Brick Oven on Saturday, or whether they will be in the church kitchen on Sunday morning; this can vary). Please consider providing a gluten free option. The hospitality team maintains extra supplies in the kitchen, including cookies and gluten free items.
2) Start coffee and set up before worship. Arrive about an hour before worship to start making coffee - filling the air pots ahead of time makes serving easier!
3) Serve food and drinks during coffee hour. This is the best part! You are bringing the congregation together, enabling conversation, and promoting fellowship.
4) Clean up. More fun than doing dishes at home! Expect to stay for 30-45 minutes after the coffee hour has wrapped up.
Don't quite know how to host? Don't worry! Check out and download the detailed instructions below (these are also posted in the kitchen) or contact Sarah Forster at [email protected] with questions.
Learn better by doing? Members of the Hospitality Team are happy to provide training.
Still not convinced? Consider signing up with someone else. There are plenty of veterans in the congregation that are willing to lend a hand.
Week after week, cup after cup, coffee hour hosts create community at First UCC - thank you!
