If you cannot arrive at the beginning of the cleaning, please let us know so that we can plan accordingly.
Cleaning the barns is a very physical task. We do a lot of pushing, pulling, lifting, bending down, standing up, etc.
Volunteers must be 10 years or older to participate and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian if under the age of 18.
You will need to sign a liability waiver when you arrive. Here is a link to the waiver, please review it before arrival. including the rules and expectations at the bottom (though you will need to actually sign it at the Refuge):
Release and Liability Waiver
You will also need to sign our Volunteer Manual when you arrive. Please read through this manual ahead of time at the link below.
If you have any questions you can email Brad at [email protected] or Allison at [email protected]
Please use the following directions to find us: http://piedmontrefuge.org/directions-refuge/ We are very near Chicken Bridge Rd. Do not use GPS as it sometimes takes people to the wrong location.
There is a mailbox at our driveway with number 7404. Look for the large goat and sheep barn.
Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and boots or appropriate foot-ware for muddy conditions. It can get very muddy, particularly in the winter. We recommend bringing a bottle of water too.
Dogs are not allowed on sanctuary grounds as they make many of our residents nervous. Please leave your pup at home, as we also do not allow dogs to be left in vehicles.
Thank you so much, we look forward to seeing you!!!
