Asheville Hot Chocolate Races - 2023

Thank you for volunteering, we couldn't do it without you!!!

 

If you are choosing multiple slots PLEASE make sure they DO NOT conflict timewise with each other. For instance, you can't help with registration until 9:00 am and then magically be on the course at 8:45 am. :)

 

Course Marshals - MUST be 18 and older. You will be directing runners at intersections and halting traffic as needed.

Water Stop/Aid Stations - Kids with adult supervision allowed. You will be pouring and handing out water, making gatorade and cutting bananas. And cheering!!!

Food Crew - In charge of creating that amazing hot chocolate, as well as cutting bananas, bagels, etc.

Registration/Packet Pick-Up - Dealing with the runners! Giving them their bibs and shirts and thanking them for supporting your school!!

Finish Line - Handing out finisher medals and water at the finish line. Kids with adult supervision allowed.

Clean-Up Crew - My favorite crew. Helping in the kitchen and in the school with cleaning up all that is race-related stuff. Things like washing hot chocolate thermoses and breaking down boxes. HEAVY LIFTING!!

Sweeper - Following the last runners and releasing the aid station and course marshals.

Lead Bikers - Be the lead biker for the 5k, 10k or Half Marathon. Ride the course staying just ahead of the front runner. 

Set-Up Crew - Helping get the gym area ready for 1000 runners to descend on our school!!
