Seeking a diverse cast of 9 adult performers. FIVE Men and FOUR Women (Character breakdowns and age ranges are provided below.)
Auditions will be held January 27 & 28, 2019 between 6:30 and 9:30PM
Callbacks will be held January 29, 2019 between 6:30 and 9:30PM, if necessary
What to Prepare
Each audition slot will be for up to six performers. Please be ready to read from the script.
Please be prepared to stay for the entire half-hour session.
Please bring your headshot and performance resume, if you have them.
Bring your calendar with you in order to declare any conflict dates for rehearsals.
Rehearsal Dates and Times
Rehearsals will begin on March 24 and will generally run Sundays through Thursdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Not every actor will be called to every single rehearsal.

DOTTY OTLEY - Grande Dame. Forgetful. Has a relationship with Garry and teases him by showing interest in Freddy. She plays MRS CLACKETT; Slow but hospitable, old-fashioned housekeeper to the Brents.
GARRY LEJEUNE - Leading man type, who never finishes a sentence. Temperamental. Romantically interested in Dotty and attacks Freddy in his jealousy. Plays ROGER TRAMPLEMAINE; Estate agent engaged to let the Brent’s house.
BROOKE ASHTON - Inexperienced actress from London, who pays no attention to anyone, rarely takes direction and persists in role despite interruptions. Always losing her contact lenses. Part of the Lloyd-Poppy-Brooke love triangle. Plays VICKI; Works for the tax authorities and trying to woo Roger. (Note: Appears onstage in underwear)
LLOYD DALLAS - Director of the play-within-a-play. Part of the love triangle with Poppy & Brooke. Soon to be directing Richard III.
FREDDY FELLOWES - Serious fear of violence and blood. Lacks confidence and is rather dim and pompous. Plays PHILIP BRENT; Writer who spends time abroad. Married to Flavia. Also plays SHEIKH; interested in renting the house. (Note: Drops pants onstage)
BELINDA BLAIR - Cheerful and sensible. Perhaps a bit over-sentimental at times. Has a protective attitude towards Freddy. Plays FLAVIA BRENT; Philip’s wife. Not a housewife.
POPPY NORTON-TAYLOR - Assistant Stage Manager. Emotional, over-sensitive and envious of Brooke, whom she understudies. Part of the Lloyd & Brooke love triangle. (Note: Appears onstage in underwear, briefly)
SELSDON MOWBRAY - Mannered, alcoholic actor. Plays BURGLAR; Old man who breaks into the Brent’s house
TIMOTHY ALLGOOD - Over-worked Stage Manager. Understudies both Selsdon and Freddy.
About the Director
Fred Gloor is currently the Associate Artistic Director and Marketing Director at Weathervane Playhouse. Before that, he taught in the Theatre and Speech departments at Tri-C West and worked in the Box Office. He is currently a member of the Theatre and Dance Faculty at Baldwin Wallace University where he teaches Intro to Theatre, Improv, and Script Analysis. A graduate of Kent State University, Fred’s directing credits include Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama, TitleWave, Charenton, The Second City Cleveland, CVLT, and Tri-C West. As an actor, he has performed at The Cleveland Play House, Great Lakes Theater, Dobama, The Beck Center, Cain Park, The Second City Cleveland, The Ensemble Theatre, and as a cast member of Something Dada. A member of SAG-AFTRA, he has appeared in numerous commercials and such films as The Dream Catcher and Pirates (with Leslie Nielsen, Eric Idle, and Rodney Dangerfield).
