SOS for Youth is a peer-to-peer educational theatre group meant to empower and encourage teen performers by giving them a performance platform to voice the challenges and concerns they face on a daily basis. Each performance draws from a repertoire of dramatic sketches that illustrates the real challenges youth are facing today, including bullying, drug and alcohol use, gun violence, the effects of racism, depression, suicide, domestic abuse, date rape, drunk driving, texting while driving and more.
Auditions will be group based, those wanting to audition will sign-up for a 30-minute time slot. During that time the director will walk the group through a series of games and theatre exercises focusing on creativity, ability to take direction, willingness to take chances and overall comfort in a performance setting. No preparation is need for this audition. Please come in clothes that you are comfortable moving in and bring a water bottle.
