Lebanon Presbyterian Church
Four classes are being offered on Wednesday evenings (Sept. 15-Nov. 17) for adult learners. Enjoy a meal at 5:30 in the Ark, and then go to class! Note: the Marriage School class will begin a week earlier (Sept. 8) and continue 3 weeks later (through Dec. 8)
- The Parables of Jesus: In the gospels one-third of Jesus’ teachings are given in the form of parables. As the consummate teacher and storyteller, Jesus knew these were the best way to communicate to His listeners the timeless truths about the Kingdom of God and the Christian life. Please join us as we study a number of the parables together. Led by Steve Newby.
- The Holiness of God: Nothing is more important in our Christian lives than our understanding of who God is. Our study of R.C. Sproul’s book will challenge us to think about the depths of divine holiness and understand how the person and character of God the Father affects every aspect of our lives. Allow one of the all-time classic works on God's character to guide you more deeply into the presence of God as you respond to His holiness. Led by Nina Dorsch
- What's the Bible All About: We read the Bible at least every Sunday, but have we ever thought about where the scriptures actually come from? Who wrote all of it down, how did it get passed on from generation to generation, and how did it get into the format that we all see today? We claim that the scriptures really do hold the Word of God, so it is vital for us to know the history of how we got the Bible, and what it means for us at Christians. Our class will focus on the origins of the Bible, and how we can know the scriptures are truly the Word of God. This will be an interactive class, with space to ask questions and even play some games. If you have read the Bible cover to cover 100 times, or never opened it, you will find this class interesting! Led by Pastor Stephanie Poblenz.
- The Marriage School:Why doesn't marriage, our most intense lifelong relationship, come with a manual? We want our marriages to glorify God, but what does that really look like in daily life? The Marriage School is a 14-week relationship skills course that helps couples build stronger, healthier marriages. The course is designed for healthy couples who want to grow stronger, committed couples who suffer from conflict or miscommunication, and couples who are in crisis. The two-hour class includes discussion, teaching and testimony. Cost: $420 with partial and full scholarships available (free to LPC families). Led by Daniel and Rachel Sachs.
