Apollo Auditionees

Auditions - Apollo: To The Moon (Grades 6-12)

Apollo: To The Moon April 29 - June 8

By Mary Hall Surface

All his life, Scott wanted to go to the moon. As he sets goals and works hard to achieve them, we’ll learn about NASA, the Apollo missions, and our country’s journey to space. Most importantly, we’ll discover what we can achieve if we keep dreaming and reach beyond our grasp.

APOLLO: TO THE MOON CASTING BREAKDOWN

Quincy Community Theatre is seeking 4-6 student actors to play multiple roles in our touring production of Apollo: To the Moon. Audition appointments are available on Monday, March 25.

Auditions are open to students in grades 6-12; all levels of experience are welcome. All auditioning actors will be asked to read selections from the script.

The production will tour to schools, libraries, and community groups throughout the Tri-States from April 29 through June 8. Most performances will be during the day; actors must be able to be excused from school to be involved in this production.

From the director, Kelsey Celek –

“Just in time for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, I’m thrilled to be involved in this production that covers the history of the Apollo program, the wonder of space travel, and the importance of chasing a dream. For this touring show, we’re seeking actors who are flexible, ready for a challenge, and able to tackle a range of characters.”

AVAILABLE ROLES:

*Important Note: All roles will be double cast, and most actors will play more than one role. Auditioning actors will be considered for all roles, regardless of age, race, or gender.*

SCOTT GIBSON – Our protagonist; the show follows Scott’s journey to become an astronaut. Intelligent and ambitious, Scott is a guy with a dream.

HISTORICAL FIGURES – Such as JFK, Lyndon B. Johnson, Alan Shepherd, John Glenn, and Werner Von Braun, all of whom had historical significance in the Space Race of the 1960s.

FICTIONAL CHARACTERS – Such as Scott’s Mom and his sister Sarah, who help inspire his journey into space.

NASA EMPLOYEES – Who help guide Scott through his astronaut training.
