Enjoy Life! A Message from Holocaust Survivor Max Garcia![]() ![]() Max Garcia triumphantly survived 5 concentration camps and later rebuilt his life after liberation, realizing his dreams of having a family and becoming a successful architect. Come hear Max’s story as told through the lens of his daughter Michelle Winner. Michelle will share the lasting impact of the Holocaust and Max’s experiences on their family, as well as Max’s willingness to use humor to make sense of the absurd. Max’s message for future generations was simple: Enjoy Life! Max passed away in January of 2021. His life story was documented by his wife, Pat, in the book, Auschwitz, Auschwitz…I Cannot Forget You as Long as I Remain Alive (2nd Ed. 2008). Copies of the book will be on sale at the event for $20.00 payable by cash or check made out to Think Social Publishing. A few treats from the book, including Max’s Boterkoeke (butter cake), will be served in the Mercaz after the event. This event is open to the Beth David community.
