ARMED FORCES, MILITARY VETERANS & FIRST RESPONDERS APPRECIATION DAY

SAVE THE DATE:  October 22, 2022 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Craig Ranch Regional Park

On behalf of the 2022 Armed Forces, Military Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Day Committee "Thank You" for volunteering for this event in 2022.  Please review the following assignments and select your desired assignment(s).  To volunteer, simply click on the "Sign Up" box for your job. Again, thank you for helping to make Military Appreciation Day 2022 a success.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING- OCTOBER 15, 2022 AT CRAIG RANCH PARK- 9:00a.m. (Meet at the main entrance, east side on 628 W.Craig Road. Use the parking lot at main entrance, east side, facing Craig. All volunteers or their representative should attend.  Thank you.  See you there!

Vendor Area Booth Assignments for Setup

Booth Assignments. Use booth layout diagram to help vendors locate their booth space. Help them setup their displays. Bring them water and provide general assistance as requested.

Greet our guests. 3 volunteers to sign-in vendors and 6 volunteers sign-in our guests, active duty, veterans and first responders. Issue wrist bands, manage lost and found. Turn in lost and found to Gloria Cherchio or Laura Coleman.

John Wulf is the SUPERVISOR of all Courtesy Cart Drivers

Courtesy Drivers will assist Vendors in loading and unloading, and assist Veterans around the event as needed. Drivers must be 16 years of age or older, have a drivers license, and a cell phone. Please contact John Wulf for sign up. 702-210-8837.

Greet and seat our guests. Thank them for their service. Pick up trash around the food area. Clear tables and wipe tables clean for next guest. Stand-by and stay busy near the food tent. Trade off with others for short 15 minute breaks as needed.

Food Servers

Persons will be responsible for serving food to attendees. Lend assistance to the food provider as requested such as working at the food preparation table to wrap burgers. Keep the food line supplied with food.

Volunteer Group Leader

Lead volunteers. Keep volunteers in "volunteer" tent. Assign volunteers to various tasks as needed. Volunteers are to return to "Volunteer" tent when various tasks are completed so they can be reassigned. We don't want volunteers wondering.

Children Handler - Help Children Pet The Horse

Help children stay safe around the horse. Assist Ms. Sydney Knott, of Horses4Heros with managing "Cheyenne" a full size very gentle horse attraction. Handout flyers and coupons. No rides - just petting. To be located near the childrens area.

Rent box truck at U-Haul for pickup and/or storage and transport. Take water to the park and unload in designated water areas.

Truck will be needed to pick up pallets of water at Trader Joes and Albertsons

Unload donated cases of water from stores at the park in designated areas or leave secured in rental truck at park overnight and unload in the morning of the 16th.

Flag Manager (see Sy Nielson of the Sun City Aliante Veterans Club for additional instruction)

Pickup/return and setup/tear-down service branch flags (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Space Force and Coast Guard) from the Sun City Aliante Veterans Club. Cherchio's have rods, wire and pounders. Use wire to attach flags.

Food Line Manager - There will be two of you. Work together. Give each other breaks.

Make sure people have wrist bands. If the food line gets too long, make two lines. Keep the people moving so they can sit down and eat without being in the sun too long. Have the food servers excort veterans to a table and get their food for them.
