Our Lady of Lourdes
Hello! For the weekend of May 23rd and 24th, churches in the Diocese of Richmond, including Our Lady of Lourdes, are being allowed to offer public masses. However, in order to comply with all of the diocesan rules and to make sure we can provide a safe experience, we need some extra help! Specifically, there are two roles in which we need help with at each of the masses. Please read the descriptions of the roles below, and prayerfully consider helping us out this weekend. God bless you!
Hospitality and Safety Ministers - The hospitality and safety minister is responsible for guiding the parishioners through the mass experience from arrival to departure, and to ensure all of the diocesan guidelines are followed. Prior to the Mass these ministers will greet people when they arrive, insure they have a mask, ask questions to make sure that no one is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms or has had confirmed Covid-19 exposure in the last 2 weeks, and guide them to their seats. Throughout the mass they will help make sure social distancing is observed and that people approach communion appropriately. This role is good for someone who is able to be warm and friendly while, at the same time, being firm about enforcing the guidelines we have to follow.
Sanitization Helpers - After each Mass the whole church needs to be cleanred thoroughly, and we need a lot of help to make sure we can do so before the next Mass begins! Sanitization helpers will assist the staff in cleaning the church - wiping down the pews, sanitizing surfaces, and generally working to clean any areas which received contact from parishioners during the previous Mass. This role is good for anyone willing to roll up there sleeves and pick up some clorox wipes!
