Please Register your committed volunteer hours availability below. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time slot.
If you have horse-outfitter experience (or want to learn) and are available, please also sign up for the 30 min shift before the first Lesson of the day to help get the horses ready for the day's Lessons. This is also an added benefit for you to learn tack and care of the horse.
In order to participate as an Arena Volunteer, you must have completed the New Volunteer Training.
Tack/Grooming/Retrieving and putting away horses before and after can ONLY be done if you are a Captain, have passed Advanced Level 1 training, are working alongside a Captain, or have direct permission from an Instructor or Captain. (We will be implementing a Sticker system to reflect the skill set for these types of duties)
All Lunging/Exercising of the horses before classes MUST have special, pre-approved permission from the Lead Instructor, Donna Brandt, or the Captain that has been assigned for the day. No Exceptions. Weather conditions require that this permission be obtained daily and NOT assumed.
All accumulated hours make Volunteers eligible for future trainings and workshops, among other benefits.
Always wear enclosed, toed shoes when working with horses and be prepared to get a little dirty. During warm weather we encourage everyone to apply sunscreen which is provided at the barn along with water. Sunglasses and a hat is also suggested attire for warm weather, and a light jacket for cooler weather.
If there is a cancelation, due to weather or other unexpected circumstance, you will be notified via email based on your Registration in this system for the hours you are scheduled to work.
Thank you for being a part of our Amazing Volunteer Team and TRCHB!
