WOW

Worship Outside Walls September 29, 2019

WOW Sunday is dedicated to going outside our church to serve our community through service projects and worship with those who are homebound or are in assisted living centers.  WOW was begun several years ago in the spirit of God being everywhere, all the time, not just in our church buildings on Sunday morning. Partners in WOW this year include Central Presbyterian Church, Connect 4 Life Church, Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, El Bethel Baptist Church, What's Happening Now Ministries, First United Methodist Church Waxahachie, Primera Baptist Church, and Zion Hill Baptist Church. Together, we will bring worship out of the building and share God's love in Waxahachie!

WOW Sunday looks like this:

8:30 am Breakfast and worship at First United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 505 W. Marvin Ave.
9:30 am Depart for worship/service project sites
Service project sites are from 9:30 am to approx. noon
Worship sites will include local retirement centers and some individuals' homes who are homebound and usually last an hour.

Project sites: these sites are throughout the community for those in need that involve maintenance and construction. There are also opportunities that do not require extensive labor. Examples involve sewing, making cards and cookies for community servants and a prison ministry, chalking the hike and bike trail, etc.

SIGN UP below!! You will be notified or reminded by the Thursday before WOW Sunday where you will worship/serve.

IF YOU NEED CHILDCARE (Kids under the age of 4) please reserve a spot at FUMC by calling 972-937-4400.

WHAT TO WEAR: Wear your yellow WOW T-shirt or whatever is comfortable! We will have new shirts (in a turquoise color this year!)  available (youth and adult sizes) on WOW Sunday for a $10 donation.

IF YOU'D LIKE TO HELP WITH BREAKFAST in addition to your service or worship site: You can access that sign-up right here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F044DAFAD23A02-wowbreakfast
