Book Fair

Work with Mrs. Troutman to plan (2) Book Fairs, on in the Fall and one in the Spring. Schedule the event, help with setup and take down, and coordinate volunteers.

Boy's Night Out (6)

Event will be held second semester. Design event (including activity and participant cost) & submit to PTO board, then book, promote and run event. Could be perfect for some not planning to attend event so others can enjoy the time with their students!

Caregiver Night Out (6)

This event is scheduled for August 20, 2022. Has been a Trivia Night in past. Design event & submit to PTO board for approval. Book, promote, and run the event. Responsibilities include decor, entertainment, set up & clean up, and silent auction.

Chat and Chew

This is a book club for 1st through 5th grades. The Chairperson would coordinate the book selections, coordinate the schedule of book discussions with the school schedule and coordinate volunteers.

Donations Committee

Responsible for gathering donations for Sweetheart Dance, Trivia Night, and Gym & Swim. Will be provided a previous donor list and can expand as desired. Will communicate with event chairs about the status of donation requests.

End of Year Family Picnic

Plan the family picnic for the last half day of school (date TBD based on district calendar). Must be able to stay until the end of the event (3pm).

Family Spirit Nights

Plan 1-2 spirit nights for the year. These can include but are not limited to Urban Air, Main Event, Skate City, Chicken N Pickle, etc.. Create and distribute fliers for spirit nights.

Field Day

This event is held in May and features a day of sports for all Stanley kids. Coordinators will assist Coach B as needed, especially in getting volunteers to work at various stations on field day.

Fifth Grade Farewell (6)

Open to any 5th grade parent, this committee coordinates the end of the year celebrations for 5th graders. This event includes a ceremony, t-shirt, activity and fundraising events.

Front Planters

Decorate the front planters (located at the entrance to the school) seasonally.

Fun Run Day Volunteers (2)

Assist the Fun Run committee to run the event on the day of the event.

Fun Run Planning Committee (4)

Help plan all aspects of our end of October Fun Run, including t-shirts & prizes, DJ, First Aid and water stations, course design, sponsorships & benefits, and securing volunteers for run day. Must be organized, but will have plenty of support.

Fun Run Sponsorship/Donations Coordinator

Help the Fun Run committee obtain sponsorships and donations for the event.

Gym & Swim (2)

Work with BV Rec to set up the April Gym & Swim event. Responsible for promoting via flyers, making sure registration info is on PTO site. Coordinate grade level raffle baskets with Room Parents, other raffle items with Stanley staff, and concessions.

Holiday Gift Drive Committee (2)

This committee will organize Stanley PTO's annual gift drive, in coordination with the school social worker. Responsible for volunteer sign ups, and collecting and distributing donations.

Marquee

Responsible for changing the marquee sign in front of the school at least every 2 weeks. Must be organized and prompt to make sure that sign is up to date.

Movie Night

Responsible for creatively letting kids vote on the movie, securing movie license, ensuring license fee is paid by PTO, promoting event, and working with sound system set up crew. Held in January.

New Family Welcome (2)

These Chairpersons will be responsible for making sure new families feel welcome at Stanley by putting together Welcome Bags for them at Meet the Teacher night (or during year) and coordinating mentoring efforts with new families.

Picture Day

Coordinate picture schedule for each classes. Give flyers to teachers and hang posters to promote. On day of event, keep the classes on schedule and make sure kids have clean faces and combed hair.

PTO Board Member: General Member (4)

Great for a first year board member to learn the board culture and participate in decisions before stepping up to the Exec Board in the future.

PTO Board Member: VP (2)

The Vice President is member of the Exec Board. Along with other VPs, will be the PTO Board liaison for committee chairs. Must be able to commit to attending PTO Board meetings.

Restaurant Nights

Responsible for finding, booking, and promoting monthly restaurant nights for the purpose of fundraising. Primarily done online and role requires relatively low time commitment.

Room Parent Coordinator

Coordinate communication to all of the classroom Room Parents, provide Room Parent sign-up sheet in the library at Meet the Teacher, hold a Room Parent meeting, and communicate any information to Room Parents throughout the year.

School Break Kickoff (2)

Come up with a fun way to make the last day of school before Winter and Spring break fun! In the past has been yard signs, breakfast sandwiches handed out during car line & pop-up Winter Wonderland at entrances.

School Store

Schedule and run the twice-yearly school store. Items can be seasonal, school themed, or your choice. The store is open before school, so volunteers must be able to be up at school early to set up and run.

School Supplies

Work with school supply company, obtain classroom supply lists for each grade, ensure ordering information is available on the PTO web site, publicize ordering information, and distribute supply boxes before the first day of school.

Staff Appreciation (2)

Help demonstrate appreciation to the Stanley staff! Coordinate meals for Staff Welcome Back Breakfast, Conferences & Staff Appreciation Week. Create sign ups & schedule volunteers. Work within budget & get PTO board approval, then implement.

Sweetheart Dance (6)

Design event and submit to PTO board for approval. Will then book, promote, and run the event. Responsibilities include decor, entertainment, set up & clean up, and raffle. Traditionally held the last Saturday in January.

Yearbook

Coordinator will work with distributor to meet deadlines for completion and coordinate the collection of pictures for the yearbook. Also responsible for distributing the yearbook in Spring.
