Lincoln Homeless Coalition
For the 11th year, a collaboration of local organizations, businesses, and volunteers will come together to provide a one-day, one-stop shop of health and human services for people experiencing homelessness at Project Connect Lincoln and Standdown. Project Homeless Connect and Standdown 2018 saw a record high of 576 guests served during the event. The Health Services area provided immunizations to 98 people, essential foot care for 47 people, 85 dental screenings, 57 vision screenings and much more! Job search services were provided to 74 people, 190 haircuts were given, 16 bikes were repaired, 1000 meals were served, and 60 companion animals received care and grooming. We need over 300 volunteers! Can you help? Have a group that wants to help? SPREAD THE WORD!!

Note: T-shirts will be pre-ordered, if you are able, please re-use the t-shirt from last year if you are available. We have done our best to get a wide variety of sizes and will accommodate as much as we are able.
To orient volunteers to the event, we will be releasing a couple short video trainings, and have small group tours available for all new volunteers and any other volunteers interested in attending the morning of the event, Friday, Sept 20, 2019 at 8:15 am. NOTE: THE START TIME IS AN HOUR EARLIER THAN PREVIOUS YEARS!
The opportunity to volunteer include Navigator (which is the biggest need!), Food Server (limited number to sign up), Bike Repairs (limited number to sign up), and Exit table (limited number to sign up). You will find descriptions behind each volunteer opportunity.
If you have volunteered in the past, we NEED you! We are bringing back the "Dream Team" to help lead small group tours of the Pinnacle Bank floor where services are provided. AND be a resource throughout the day for fellow Navigators!

If you are not able to do this, no worries, we will have copies at registration! Be sure to give yourself a couple extra minutes to arrive, get the form and sign it.
Please note: if you have been convicted of a felony, violent crime, or sex offence, please contact Jacob or Denise, Volunteer Coordinators prior to registering. Everyone is subject to a background check as needed. By signing up, you agree to this being done. We will have volunteer opportunities for people with criminal histories.

Event doors open at 9 am. We are asking volunteers to arrive at 8:30 for a brief welcome and question and answer time as a follow up to the video training.
Event also closes at 3 pm, post event is tear down, we are asking volunteers who are able stay to help make this run quickly and efficiently for vendors and PHCL team.
