Light of Mine
Please join us for Light of Mine, a guided spiritual and social journey for young people with special needs, ages 14-24. We will meet every 2nd Sunday of the month, from September through May (except for April and May, during which we will meet on the 3rd Sunday). Monthly gatherings will take place in the Brisson Room of the St. Joseph Center (across the parking lot from the church and next door to the school) from 4-5 pm.
Each gathering will focus on a theme related to the liturgical calendar’s teachings. Sessions will follow a predictable pattern, including a short prayer and reading, followed by a physically immersive activity conducted around a circle of support, then a simple craft session, and time for families to interact socially.
Participants must be accompanied by parents or caretakers, ages 18+. Light of Mine is not intended to be a respite program; rather, it is an opportunity for individuals with special needs and their families to get to know one another as they worship and spend time together socially.
