The Run Club will allow students to experience running and walking as forms of exercise that can last a lifetime through positive reinforcement and good habits. In keeping with Catholic Social Teachings, we commit our service to our community by participating in running events that benefit those in need, as well as preserving God’s creations. This club is sponsored by Mrs. Gutierrez (3rd grade) and Mrs. Meurer (2nd grade).
Run Club will need at least 3 volunteers to monitor the runners on the field each time we meet. They will watch and make sure the students are not stopping and playing. The students should be running our walking around the field. Volunteers will be posted by the storage shed, by the softball seating, and by the picnic tables. The teachers will monitor and keep track the laps as students go by the kick ball home base.
One volunteer will take the data from each weeks run and make a record of each students cumulative total miles. This person does not need to attend the run meets. They will need to collect the data from the teachers and email or give the results at least once a month to Mrs. Gutierrez and Mrs. Meurer.
Running Club will meet from 3:30-4:00 pm (weather permitting).
All volunteers must be current on Safe Environment training to volunteer.
