Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. In list view, you may select multiple slots and sign up for them all at once.
Directions for all tasks are below. Please read carefully and contact Martha Hovde, [email protected], if you have any questions.
Directions:
Padlock - a padlock code is required for all tasks. If you need this code, please contact Martha Hovde, in advance. Emails are typically not checked over weekends or breaks.
Chicken Water (daily) - Bring 1 gallon of very warm water. Empty ice from black water bowl*. Dump or rinse debris and ice from bowl. Refill with warm water.
*I find flipping over the bowl and using my foot to push down on the bottom helps to loosen the ice.
Cracked Corn (as needed) - if there is not cracked corn visible inside the chicken area, please give them more. It can be found in the metal garbage can inside the greenhouse, on the left. Please sprinkle 1-2 handfuls of cracked corn inside the chicken area.
Produce Treats (optional) - the chickens do enjoy vegetable scraps. Some of their favorites are cucumbers and spinach. Please do not give them any citrus or processed foods.
Chicken Feed (breaks/long weekends only) - Feed is in metal garbage can next to greenhouse. Use scoop and add 2-3 scoops of food to center of green and white feeder. Roll bag closed. Replace scoop and close metal lid on garbage can tightly.
Eggs - you are welcome to take home and enjoy any eggs that are in the nests boxes when you visit. If your family won't use the eggs, you may leave them for the next visitors.
Thank you!
