CAFO Volunteers 2021
Every year a mighty team of volunteers provides hospitality, direction, and helping hands to the CAFO2021 Summit. Each year, the volunteers' service, heart and smile shapes the experience of the attendees. Whether you are the ideal people person, expert behind the scenes runner, chief organizer or strong box-lifter, there is a place for you! Will you join the team?
Who can volunteer? Volunteer slots are filled by all ages, beginning with responsible older students to all seasons of adulthood.
If I'm a volunteer, do I have to pay to attend? No! Registration is our gift to full-time volunteers. To be considered a full-time volunteer register for at least 10 hours of volunteer service. This will require you to select multiple volunteer slots. Ideally, choose the same role more than once so you become familiar with your responsibilities. While we consider volunteering an "all-in" experience, each volunteer has multiple “free times” throughout the week where he or she can join any Summit session and some roles (e.g., workshop host) allow you to attend a Summit session while you volunteer!
I've signed up! What's next? Volunteer coordinators will send you details for your role a few weeks in advance. A virtual or in-person orientation time will be set closer to the event.
Brief description of volunteer roles:
Registration & Help Desk: Check-in attendees using app on your own phone. Help with questions & directions. Helping people is your love language.
Workshop Hosts: Assist presenter if needed. Contact tech to troubleshoot. Greet attendees. Hospitality is your middle name! Enjoy the workshop too!
Greeters: Greet at entrances and throughout church. Smile, identify lost expressions and provide direction. You will make this event a success for the attendee!
Meal Team Leader and Meal & Snack Volunteers: Assist with meal set-up and distribution. Become a hero to hungry attendees.
Bookstore: Run the event bookstore. Put your organizational skills to use and connect attendees with new resources.
Exhibitor Team: Greet and assist the exhibitors as they set up and tear down. You make these ministry leaders and sponsors feel extra special!
Floaters: Summit heroes - plain and simple! Help with needs as they arise. Errands? Material prep? Greeting? Extra pair of hands? You're on it! (Cape not included.)
