Cy-Fair Helping Hands
Cy-Fair Helping Hands is a non-profit ministry that serves the homeless and most in need in our community. We are currently distributing Compassion Bags filled with canned and prepackaged food items to the homeless weekly. Sadly, our clients on the street rarely receive a meal of fresh food. Our goal is to distribute fresh lunches to our homeless clients regularly.
The sack lunch program is a service project that works well for small groups: school clubs, church youth groups, homeschoolers, scout troops, senior clubs, etc. We ask that you purchase all contents, prepare and pack the lunches, and deliver them to our office on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings. These sack lunches are distributed by Cy-Fair Helping Hands’ outreach teams to homeless men and women on the streets of Cy-Fair. The lunches may be packaged in paper lunch bags or gallon zip lock bags.
The recommended contents are:
1 Sandwich – dry turkey, ham, or chicken and cheese if you wish
2 packets of mayo and 2 packets of mustard
1 Bag of chips
1 piece of Fresh fruit – soft fruits such as oranges, bananas, peaches (no apples, please)
1 Juice box, juice pouch, or shelf milk
1 Individually wrapped soft dessert - soft cookies or muffins
1 Napkin
The prepared Sack Lunches may be delivered Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30am until 12:00pm and other times by appointment.
