Ruth Asawa SF School of the Arts Volunteers
We are looking for adult volunteers who can help on a school tour. Help spread the word about Asawa SOTA and the value of arts education! This year, Asawa SOTA has three scheduled tour days. Volunteers will follow student tour guides and be there to support and offer the "adult" perspective.
The first tour was CRAZY FULL!! For the remaining tours, we are asking that volunteers arrive at the Dan Kryston Memorial Theater by 12:30pm and connect with Liz Isaacs, Volunteer Coordinator, for a check in. Prior to the general information session, which begins at 1:30pm, volunteers will be welcoming prospective families in the parking lots, the quad, the lobby and other strategic areas anyone can think of, and directing them them to the theater. Information will be distributed to prospective families prior to entering the theater. After the general information session, our guests will split into smaller groups, based on department interest. We are hoping this process will be less chaotic and that the tour itself will be "choreographed" so large groups aren't bumping into each other, preventing a classroom, library, etc. from being missed.
The student led tour will end in the selected art department. The tour ends around 3 - 3:10 pm. The student guides are great, but you will also be a vital component of the tour, providing your own insights, perspectives and experiences, when necessary.
A reminder: there have been a few significant changes to the audition and enrollment process. Click HERE to learn more -- it is important to ensure that the correct information is disseminated to prospective families.
Please contact Liz Isaacs at email@example.com, Paulette Cauthorn at firstname.lastname@example.org or Alex Jones at email@example.com if you have any additional questions!
