St. Mary’s Food Kitchen

Dear Sacred Heart Parishioners,

We will provide sack lunches and drinks to St. Mary's Food Kitchen for Tuesday, December 8. They are so grateful for our help. Their clients are struggling and the numbers coming for help have greatly increased. The kitchen is saying that ziplocs are not required but we can use new/unused plastic grocery bags. The grocery store will usually give you extras if you ask. No paper bags please.

Sack lunches should include:

  • 20oz.Water bottle
  • sandwich or wrap in a sandwich bag (prefereably lunchmeat and cheese-but not american cheese as it smooshes into the bread and doesn't hold up well) Include mayo/mustard packets if you have them, but please leave the sandwich dry.
  • Granola bar or protein bar
  • Fruit or fruit cup (please provide a spoon)-please no bananas, pears or peaches
  • Bag of chips
  • Dessert
  • Napkin

Please review the opportunities below and click on the button to sign up. St. Mary's is seeing upwards  of 700 people per day that need lunch at this time.

Third, bring the lunches/drinks to the northeast side of our Johnson Drive parking lot.  We will have a table set up for donations near the basket ball goals from 7-8:45 a.m.  In case of inclement weather, we will have a vehicle set up to load lunches.

Call/text Lynsey Hammeke with any questions at (913)302-0924.   Thank you for your generous support!
