NVHS Orchestra Families 2019-2020
Dear Orchestra Families,
It is Crystal Concert time. As many of you are aware, the Crystal Concert performances are scheduled for December 5th and 6th, 2019 at 6pm and 8:15pm both days. In preparation for these concerts, we need to request support for decorating. This year the decorating needs to be completed before the Thanksgiving week on Friday, November 21st. We also need support with parent oversight during the Wednesday night rehearsals, support during the concerts themselves, and tear-down (very quick) on Monday, December 16th.
We have a number of volunteer positions that need to be filled in order to make this year's event a success. Please check out the volunteer position descriptions and schedules below. Volunteers are needed before, after and during the concerts. Orchestra is requesting support, Band and Choral groups will also be requesting support.
Please open up your calendars and hearts to make these concerts a success. Let's show our students that we support them and appreciate their hard work.
Decorations: Help decorate the lobby and auditorium for the concerts and help take down and put them away. Volunteers should check in at the main entrance and sign-in to report to the auditorium. You can show up and leave at anytime during the scheduled time. Moms, Dads, and other family members are certainly welcome!
CONCERT NIGHTS!!! Please stop by the Volunteer Check-In table when you arrive at Crystal Concert for your responsibilities. The table will be located in the “A-wing” hallway (just outside the lobby area). If you have any problems in your room or someone doesn't show up to replace you, please contact the concert coordinators - the coordinators and their cell numbers will be identified for each concert. THANK YOU!!!
CD Sales: Before and after the concert take CD orders, you may wish to plan to attend and enjoy a different concert than the one you are taking orders for since it can get quite busy.
Will Call: Will call volunteers will assist with distributing tickets to Patrons before the concert.
Classroom Monitors: We will have at least 1 parent stationed in each classroom to monitor the students when they are not performing. Directors will escort them to and from the auditorium. This includes covering during Wednesday evening's rehearsal.
Snack Donations: We are looking for Pretzel donations for the performing students. If you are able to donate individually wrapped pretzels to the address listed, we would greatly appreciate it! We are looking for them to be dropped off on 12/02. Also, please look for packages that are nut free and preferably don't have a "manufactured in the same facility as nuts" warning. We are requesting a certain number of 'gluten free' options if possible as well. Please drop them off with: Keri Dunn, 1407 English Ct., Naperville, IL (Ashbury Subdivision)
