Please consider volunteering to help with the WTES Food for Thought Taste Off on Wednesday, November 13th!
This is a fun and popular event sponsored by the WTES PTA Health and Wellness Committee and local grocery stores. The event is designed to get our Westies to try some different types of fruits and vegetables! This year the children will be tasting green grapes, dried plantains, corn, cucumbers, chickpeas, dried cranberries, red cabbage, and celery.
With their classes, students will rotate through eight tasting stations in the rotunda. Each student will receive a piece of produce to taste. Any student who tastes an item, receives a punch on his/her punch card.
The students proceed to large charts on the wall to choose their favorite and least favorite fruit or vegetable by placing a sticker next to their choices.
Volunteers (a lot of them!) are needed to hand out food items, "punch" cards, and give out stickers.
If you can volunteer for multiple slots, great! If you can do only part of a slot, just include the time you are available in the comment section. We're grateful for any time you want to give!! Please consider forwarding to anyone who might be interested.
Please see below for when your child will attend:
For 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents, these grades are clustered together. The times are listed as signed up by the teachers (please note that some children rotate throughout the day and the homeroom teacher may not be listed).
