Our Own Backyard

Our Own Backyard is a ministry of Northwest Chapel that serves and supports the homeless community in Franklin County. Its’ mission is to meet basic physical needs, such as food, water, clothing, and toiletries, as well as to encourage, pray and support those who are in transition by sharing God’s love and Gospel. This ministry meets every Saturday. Volunteers are needed to assist in serving in areas such as transportation, cooking, cleaning, and preparation. 

25 volunteers on a rotation basis
Donations - Grocery gift cards, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrush, hand sanitizer, wipes, feminine hygiene products

New or gently used backpacks to be filled with donated twin sized blanket, 8x10 green or brown tarp, white crew socks, hand warmers, heavy warm gloves, AAA batteries, mini flashlight that uses 1or 2 AAA batteries for Dec. 12th

Hats, gloves, scarves for Dec. 26th gift bags

All are welcome- NWC attendees, friends, and family
