A program of Prison Fellowship
Every year, Angel Tree® brings children and their incarcerated mom or dad together on Christmas, one gift at a time. For years, our Northwest Chapel family has supported this special mission and its aim to restore the relationship between child and parent - and introduce both to Christ’s unfailing love. This year, we will help 32 incarcerated parents provide Christmas gifts, connection, and the hope of the gospel to more than 70 children - and we need your help!
If you’ve participated in our program in the past, then you should know that this year will look and feel different. The reason is two-fold: 1) the current COVID-19 pandemic limits our ability to host a full-scale, in-person event like we’ve done in past years, and 2) we want you to experience the joy of deeper connection with our Angel families! You won’t regret it!
We are seeking volunteers to fill several NEW, CRITICAL roles.
Angel Family Outreach Teams - These can be made up of a single-family unit, an extended family unit, a group of friends, or even a bible study or life group. Each Outreach Team will select one special Angel family with between 1-3 children and will be responsible for contacting them, purchasing gifts for them, wrapping gifts, and ensuring delivery at our Open House event or via personal home delivery. You will be provided with a kit that contains everything you need to be successful! (These will be available in the commons each Sunday - if you are attending church remotely, please contact me to arrange pick-up.) We will work to connect our large Angel families (4 children or more) to our large Outreach Teams. We will also have gift purchasing volunteers available to support you with additional purchases. We do not want this to be a financial hardship, but rather a blessing to you and the Angel family.
Gift Purchasing Volunteers - These individuals or families will be on standby to support our Angel Family Outreach Teams by purchasing gifts for additional children in the home. This includes purchasing requested items, wrapping them, and delivering to the church by the deadline.
Open House Volunteers - These volunteers will assist with set-up at a to-be-determined venue in close proximity to our Angel families. Angel families are invited to stop by during open house hours to pick up their gifts, some special treats, and a lot of love (even if from a “distance”)! Volunteers should be available December 12, Venue is TBD.
Delivery Volunteers - These individuals or families will be on standby to deliver any remaining gifts to Angel Families unable to attend the Open House event. Must be delivered before December 20.
