Violent Delights is a dance-based telling of Romeo and Juliet, featuring music from local bands. This original show created and directed by Jim Manning features bands/singers like Rob Vischer, Secret Castle, Veridia, Birdtalker, and others. We're not talking ballet here -- more like a post-apocalyptic vision with some really intense moments. Several choreographers will be working on this show, including Tosha Pendergrast, Shirley Fleener, Jodie Mowrey, Caitlyn Del Casino, and Meredith Combs.
Show dates are May 24-June 8.
We are looking for dancers who can act. While there are very few lines in the show, we are telling a story through movement and lyrics. All parts are open. All ethnicities are possibilities for all roles. Our Romeo and Juliet might be heterosexual or a same-sex couple.
Come warmed up and in clothes you can move in. We will be doing one intense song from the show and one softer piece. Please--no bare feet If you MUST be late to an audition, come on and jump in the best you can. Please be prepared to list all your conflicts between auditions and show dates.
