Cy-Fair Helping Hands
Cy-Fair Helping Hands is a non-profit ministry that serves those most in need in our community: the homeless and hungry. Currently, we are distributing almost 100 Compassion Bags filled with canned and prepackaged food items to the homeless, on a weekly basis. Sadly, our clients on the street rarely receive a meal of fresh food. Our goal is to distribute fresh lunches to our homeless clients at least once a month. We are looking for enough volunteer groups to provide 50 sack lunches so that each group will need to prepare lunches only once or twice a year.
This is a service project that works well for small groups: church youth groups, homeschoolers, scout troops, senior clubs, etc. We ask that you prepare and pack the lunches and deliver them to our offices at your pre-scheduled time. When you make your delivery, bring the group, we will give a brief presentation on how we help the community, and of course, we will have refreshments waiting for you! Monday is the suggested delivery day, but if that does not fit your schedule, we will make arrangements that are more convenient for you.
The recommended contents are:
1 Sandwich – dry turkey & cheese, ham & cheese, chicken & cheese
2 packets of mayo and 2 packets of mustard
1 Bag of chips
1 piece of Fresh fruit – soft fruits such as oranges, bananas, peaches
1 Juice box or Juice Pouch
1 Individually wrapped Soft dessert - soft cookies or muffins (homemade would be great!)
