This fall, First Parish is hosting three conversations to help us live more fully into our mission of “celebrating multicultural community, ...demanding justice and dismantling racism.” Our November and December conversations will be co-led by DEEP consultants Dr. Darnisa Amante and Rev Eric Jackson, and will focus on questions and topics determined by YOU!
Based on the recent surveys filled out by the FPB congregation, the fall topic is:
First Parish traditions grow out of white upper middle class norms: What are those norms? What do they look like at First Parish? How do they limit our capacity to be welcoming, inclusive and equitable? How might we move beyond those limitations?
The conversations will focus on how those norms operate and affect:
Thursday, November 15 - Worship, Sanctuary Design and Layout
Thursday, December 6 and Saturday December 8 - Governance, Transparency, and Communications
Childcare is provided. Please sign up here:
