We are excited to do our annual Books & Blankets Project again this year! The goal of this project is to ensure that all students have access to reading material at home over winter break. Items are collected to create bags containing a bundle of books, a warm cuddly blanket, a stuffed animal, flashlight, fuzzy socks or slippers, and some treats. Bags are distributed to students within our Benninghoven community. Please see specific instructions for each item below and put items in the "Books & Blankets" bin by the office by THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2. Student Council will be sorting, organizing, and assembling the bags as their December project and they will be sent home with students prior to winter break.
Students are identified by #s 1-10. Please label items accordingly.
BOOKS: Books may be new or gently-used. Please wrap and label with the Student #1-10.
BLANKETS: Blankets should be NEW. Suggested blankets are fleece throws - possibly character blankets for younger students. Please wrap and label with the Student #1-10.
STUFFED ANIMALS: Stuffed animals should be NEW. These do not need to be wrapped, but please place in a plastic bag to prevent from getting dirty and label with the Student #1-10.
FLASHLIGHTS/READING LIGHTS/HEADLAMPS: These should be new. Please install batteries so they are ready to go! Please wrap and label with the Student #1-10.
FUZZY SOCKS / SLIPPERS: These should be new. Please wrap and label with the Student #1-10.
