St Paul UMC
“Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?” - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Thank you for the overwhelming response filling these slots! If you didn't get the chance to sign up for anything and would still like to contribute, other much needed supplies include:
- Hand sanitizer (bulk and small pumps)
- Face masks (cloth and reusable)
- Latex gloves
- Disinfectant spray and wipes
- Air disinfectant
- Socks
- Ziploc bags
- Menstrual products
- Ponchos
These can also be brought to the church or dropped with Katie
This year for The MLK Day of Service this year St. Paul will be putting together Blessing Bags for the guests at Central Outreach and Advocacy Center (https://centraloac.org/). The main thing Central OAC does is help people experiencing homelessness get their ID by helping them obtain the necessary documents and then provide a voucher for the ID.
We will gather at church (masked, distanced, and outside) at 1pm on Monday, January 18th to put the bags together, but first we need supplies. Please consider signing up to donate some items on the list. You can drop them at church the week before, bring them on the 18th, or can ship/drop items with Katie Varner (email her at [email protected] to coordinate.) - whichever is easiest for you!
Our goal is to put together 48 bags for Central OAC, so we are asking for 4 dozen of each item. Most of the food items are easy to come by at the grocery store, but we've put together a list on Amazon of some of the hygiene items requested for easy shopping (these are merely suggestions to give you an idea, not specifics requested). The list can be accessed at https://tinyurl.com/StPaulBlessingBagWishList
