The Read to Me Project
This is a wonderful chance to meet students and witness first-hand their excitement about being recognized and awarded during Read to Me Project’s end-of-year awards ceremony. You might even hear heart-warming stories about reading to a baby brother or sister. Volunteers assist the program coordinator with set-up and coordination of handing out the awards during the ceremony and subsequent book giveaway. It may require moving boxes of books, tables and chairs, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
· Hours: Up to 4 hours per shift. Each ceremony is 30-45 minutes.
· When: During school hours (8am-3pm) in late May through early June.
· Where: School sites (Monterey, Seaside, Marina, Salinas, and Greenfield)
· Need: 1-2 volunteers per coordinator per class/school
Sign-up for as many shifts as you would like and invite a friend to join you in celebrating our students, champions of early literacy in their homes!
