Irwin Prairie Litter Clean Up

Our March Stewardship event will be a spring clean up and litter removal at Irwin Prairie State Nature Preserve. We'll be working with Maureen Bogdanski of the ODNR to help collect litter along the roadways of the preserve. Please bring your own gloves and wear knee high rubber boots to meander on the prairie side of the ditch where trash collects from floodwaters and wind. Trash grabbers and bags will be provided for volunteers. This will be a part of Clean Your Streams 365 and we will use the Clean Swell app to record the litter collected. The data will be submitted to the Ocean Conservancy.

If there is time, we will also carpool to Lou Campbell State Nature Preserve to collect litter there.

We'll meet on Saturday, March 25 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Irwin Prairie parking lot.

The address to Irwin Prairie is 9987 W. Bancroft St., Holland OH 43528. There are no on-site restrooms, but Secor Metropark is close by.

Anyone registering for this event will also need to sign the attached ODNR volunteer form. The form is good for the year, so you can skip this step if you've already volunteered. The form can be electronically filled out, saved, and emailed to Maureen at: [email protected]

There will be some printed out forms available at Irwin Prairie.

Thank you and we hope to see you there!
