GALT Vols Greater DFW
GALT will be staffing one concession stand at the Charles Schwab Challenge at The Colonial Golf Club, May 22nd-26th. This tournament is an opportunity to raise funds to help with the medical costs of the greyhounds we take in to the GALT family. In 2018, we received over $7,500 from working one concession stand at this event. Working at this iconic tournament is also a greyt way to promote awareness of GALT and our adoptable hounds.
Our concession stand will not require any cooking. Volunteers will be assembling orders of hot dogs, chips, cold drinks, beer, wine, and bottled cocktails or taking orders on an easy-to-use iPad system.
There are two shifts each day for the volunteers doing order assembly and cashiering tasks. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the beginning of your shift.
If it is possible for you to stay all day, sign up for both the morning and afternoon shift. It is greatly appreciated if you can volunteer all day, especially Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
All volunteers need to wear the official GALT volunteer t-shirt as well as a ball cap of your choice. If you need a GALT t-shirt, please indicate your size when you signup (after you select your shift(s) and click submit). T-shirts are unisex.
If you wish to purchase a GALT ball cap, there are several available through the GreytStore here: http://www.greytstore.com/product_p/1776.htm
*** All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older due to the selling of alcohol. ***
All volunteers need to have a GALT Volunteer Application on file AND a Spectrum Registration Form submitted for this event. The Spectrum forms are available for download from this signup and will be included as an attachment to your signup confirmation email.
Completed Spectrum forms should be emailed to [email protected] Include the form as a PDF attachment.
GALT's Volunteer App can be submitted online here: http://galtx.org/help/help-volunteer.shtml
Free parking is available for volunteers, with a shuttle running back and forth to the course. Allow about 15-30 minutes to park and wait to catch the next shuttle to the course. Several days prior to the tournament volunteers will receive additional info about parking and entry passes will be distributed.
