Thank you for your interest in helping with St. Mary's Hypothermia Prevention Shelter: Jan 16-23, 2022. Please pray for our guests over this winter season, our volunteers, and for a successful Shelter week. The mission here is to prevent any folks from freezing (hypothermia) among people living in poverty who do not have a regular indoor place to sleep.
Below are the volunteer opportunities available for ADULTS (at least age 18) to help.
****** Due to covid and the fact that barely half of our guests will be vaccinated, we require all our volunteers to be vaccinated. All of FACETS personnel will also be vaccinated. While inside the shelter, everyone needs to be masked save when eating, drinking or sleeping. In addition, everyone will have their temperature checked as they arrive and each will be asked the usual covid prevention questions. Check with a registrar at the front desk if you are somehow missed in these checks when you arrived.
We have created this sign-up JUST FOR ADULTS. Please encourage your families to also check out:

***** Youth, those under 18, are not permitted at the St. Mary's Hypothermia Shelter except during their assigned volunteer hours. These volunteer hours include those used for meal prep and serving of the Youth group dinner on Sunday, Jan 16th. This rule is demanded by our contract with FACETS, our umbrella organization, so we have no options to make any exceptions. *****
