POSTPONED DUE TO SCHOOL CLOSURE
Who: For parents of 5th through 8th graders
What: 90-minute seminar addressing The Why’s & How’s of Having “The Talk” with Your Kids
*(This is Not CUSD curriculum but is for those wanting to gain more communication skills in speaking with their children about this senstive topic)
When: Tuesday, March 24th 9:30 am.
Where: Las Flores Middle School
Why: With smart phones and Internet access, today’s kids face an onslaught of sexual imagery and misinformation that can distort and damage their sexual development. That’s why talking with our children about sex and sexuality is of great importance in today’s high-tech culture. And, although it is a notoriously difficult conversation for parents and kids alike, it’s important for our kids’ overall health and well-being.
How: Jill Halbert, Director of TheTalk, brings 15 years of experience as a Sexuality Health Educator to an engaging seminar covering the importance of educating our children about sex and sexuality, along with practical advice and tools on how to do so. Parents will learn the why’s and how’s of having these important conversations and gain a better understanding of their own sexual values and how best to impart those values to their children.
Cost: Ticket required to attend. $10 per person and payments can be made at the door via cash or check made out to LFMS PTSA.
