Bucks County Opportunity Council
The Bucks County Opportunity Council, in partnership with Holy Family University in Newtown, is hosting a community event to increase awareness of the realities of living in poverty for Community Action Month. BCOC is the designated Community Action Agency for Bucks County.
The Poverty Simulation is designed to help participants understand what it might be like to live in a low-income family trying to move beyond survival and achieve sustainable economic self-sufficiency. Participants will role play a person living in poverty for four abbreviated weeks. The simulation will be followed by a discussion of your experience and the Bucks County Opportunity Council’s approach to helping people move beyond poverty.
This activity is FREE and open to anyone in the community who is interested in learning more about poverty. Participants must be age sixteen or older. Questions? Contact Eileen at [email protected]
