Bucks County Opportunity Council
The Bucks County Opportunity Council has a table each year at the Middletown Grange Fair in the government services tent, to share information and resources on what we do, how we can help, and how people can volunteer and be involved with our community.
The Grange fair is a five-day agricultural showcase featuring an array of agricultural exhibits, entertainment events and displays ranging from 4-H competitions to a horse show, a fair queen contest, antique tractors and plenty of food, rides and vendors. https://www.middletowngrangefair.org/
We are asked to staff our display throughout the duration of the fair. Grange Fair hours are:
Wednesday, August 17 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Thursday, August 18 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Friday, August 19 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Saturday, August 20 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Sunday, August 21 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Shifts are broken up into two hour blocks. Register below for any shifts you'd like. We'll contact you with instructions and how to obtain a fair pass for parking. We have several we can give you to enter and park, and you can come early or stay after the shift to enjoy the fair! Feel free to bring friends or family!
What you'll be doing
Our goal is to familiarize people with our work and provide information about how fair-goers can get involved in making a difference in the community by volunteering.
There will be a chair(s) at the booth for your comfort. The most common interaction will likely be a smile, a brief greeting and distribution of a flyer or brochure.
You should review all of the materials at the table completely and use that information in them to answer very general questions. If you don't know the answer to a question please hand the fair-goer Eileen's business card and tell say something like, "Eileen would be happy to answer your question and give you more information about that."
The Middletown Grange Fairgrounds are located at 576 Penns Park Road, Wrightstown, PA 18940.
