Reading Academy Monday Vols
Join us for "The Friends of the Earth," reading academy, a literacy campaign focused on environmental awareness and stewardship! Volunteers should have a desire to improve the quality of academic and social engagement in elementary students who come from economically and socially diverse populations and should have a desire to serve others through education. Your love of learning and being a positive role model will help our children grow in self-confidence and self-esteem.
The Reading Academy (Monday, June 17th- Friday, June 21) is held at Ruge Hall Student Center at FSU, 655 W. Jefferson St. You can sign up for any day(s) and for any combination of tasks. All materials are provided. MONDAY, JUNE 17TH IS A FIELD TRIP TO LAFAYETTE HERITAGE TRAIL PARK, a picturesque park known for its multi-use trails, wooden pedestrian bridge, fishing & boating. Join us for a day of learning about Northwest Florida Trails and how we can care for parks and recreational sites.
Address: 4900 Heritage Park Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32311. Volunteers must be signed up to accompany us on this trail hike and will meet at the trailhead at 9:30/9:45am. Hike begins promptly at 10am.
