The Night Hockey League draft has been completed. If you're interested in playing, please contact [email protected] and sign up below to be added to the waiting list.
Hello Hockey Players,
Registration for the 2021-22 Night Hockey League at Petoskey Ice Arena has begun and ends on October 3rd. The draft will be held on October 3rd, with the season beginning on October 5th. The cost is $690, if paid in full, and $690 if you use the payment plan ($390 before the season begins and $300 before January 1st). The cost increase is covering an increase in pay to the referees ($40/game) and extra ice time, which was previously unpaid (we paid for 1hr and used 1hr 15 min). However, players are no longer required to sign up for USA Hockey, which saves about $60 per season. The season will run similar days and times to last year with 30 regular season games and playoffs.
We're going to have 40 Division 1 and 60 Division 2 skaters this season. This will be done on a first come first serve basis. Any additional skaters will be added to a waiting list for future consideration.
New skaters, and skaters who have not played in the last couple years, are required to make at least 1 of the 2 draft skates scheduled for Wednesday September 29th at 8:30 and Sunday October 3th at 5:30 pm, with the draft to follow. The draft skates are for new players and captains only. Nobody else will be allowed on the ice.
Registration is only being done through SignUpGenius. If you are doing a split season, please let us know who you’re splitting the season with or if you need help finding another split season player.
The draft list is going to be the list of people signed up and paid before the draft. If you need help, please let us know.
If you know any new skaters, goalies, or refs looking to get involved, please let us know and/or send them the signup link.
Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you on the ice for the NHL season.
