Troop 202
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performs summer concerts at Conner Prairie. Attendance ranges from 3,000-10,000 patrons each concert. As the seating is on the lawn, patrons bring blankets, chairs, and picnic supplies. A Scout can sign up to use one of the Conner Prairie wagons to assist guests from the parking lots to their seats. The Scouts are usually rewarded with a tip. The money is placed in a box mounted on the back of the wagon, and is turned in to the Troop 202 treasurer at the following troop meeting.
Scouts must
- wear their Class A uniform shirt and a provided orange safety vest
- sign in at the Conner Prairie apple store on arrival
- be accompanied by a parent throughout the shift
- sign out at the apple store and turn in the wagon after the concert starts
- turn in the money to the troop treasurer at the next troop meeting (to be placed in Scout account)
Tips for successful fundraising:
- The more trips a Scout makes from the parking lot to the lawn seating area, the more opportunities to earn a tip.
- Being friendly, courteous, kind, and cheerful goes a long way!
IF YOU SIGN UP AND THEN NEED TO CANCEL, YOU are required to find a substitute or trade. Conner Prairie is counting on the Scouts to offer this service to their guests. A wagon should not be empty. We want Troop 202 Scouts to be the standard of excellent service!
