If you would like to get a flu shot this season we recommend scheduling an appointment with The Medicine Store, Basehor during one of our clinic days. We have set aside a pharmacist to administer flu shots on these days to take care of our customers for the upcoming flu season.
We are taking appointments on:
Saturday, September 12th 10AM to 4PM
Monday, September 21st 10AM to 3PM
Thursday, September 24th 10AM to 3PM
Saturday, September 26th 1:30PM to 4PM
Monday, September 28th 10AM to 3PM
Thursday, October 1st 10AM to 3PM
Saturday, October 3rd 10AM to 4PM
Please use this sign-up genius to sign up for your time slot or call 913-724-3666 and we can sign-up/schedule for you.
If you are unable come during one of our clinic days, once the clinic days are over, we will give the inventory that is left on a walk-in basis. However, we have found with the precautions needed due to COVID, an appointment based clinic works very well, so we will try to continue to add appointment dates and times if needed.
We highly recommend scheduling during the above clinic dates/times and will be unable to reserve any vaccine outside of these set aside times.
The required vaccine paperwork is available on our website (www.medstorebasehor.com).
Feel free to print off and fill out the paperwork prior to coming to the pharmacy for your flu shot to speed up the process. Also, please bring a current copy of your prescription insurance card.
Taking care of our community is our #1 priority.
We ask you to wear a mask and social distance within the pharmacy while you wait.
Feel free to browse and shop our boutique items!
We will be sanitizing well between each flu shot customer.
We can give flu shots to any patient age 6 and over.
Most commercial insurances cover the flu shot.
If for some reason it is not covered the out-of-pocket cost at The Medicine Store, Basehor is $40.
At the pharmacy, we bill medications for patients covered by Medicare under Medicare Part D, but flu shots usually fall under Original Medicare Part B instead of Part D. We are unable to bill Original Medicare, however, if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan or certain Medicare Prescription Drug Plans, the flu shot may be covered at our pharmacy.
If you have Original Medicare and the flu shot is not covered at The Medicine Store, you should go to your doctor's office or a clinic that can bill Original Medicare in order for the flu shot to be covered. Again, the out-of-pocket cost when it is not covered at The Medicine Store is $40.
We will be administering the Quadrivalent Flu Vaccine that is recommended for most individuals, but we will NOT carry the High Dose Flu Vaccine that is recommended for patients 65 years and older since we cannot bill Original Medicare.
As always, thank you so much for your support and patience as we work to find the safest and most efficient way to vaccinate during this pandemic.
