Sole Support - Bend Volunteers

EVERY STEP IS PERSONAL 

This year the Bend Sole Support walk will be live and in person.  Our routes will include a walk around Drake Park and along the riverfront and surrounding neighborhood!  

Expect a bigger and better community area with entertainment, vendors, and activities.

The success of our annual Sole Support fundraising and awareness walk rests on our supporters and volunteers!  

We hope you will join us by volunteering the day of the walk.

Check-in Starts: 12:00pm

Walk Starts: 1:30pm (5k followed by 1k)

Community area closes: 4:00pm

Using sidewalk spray, staked signage, and street decals, mark walk routes and inspirational signage to add to walker experience

Greet attendees in line and assist with information, direct to check-in area, hand out registration materials as needed.

Help check in walkers and hand out t-shirts and other materials as needed. Register walkers on-site. Accept donations, hand out route maps, passports, and incentives.

Fun Zone Managers (2)

Oversee the craft and activities area for children and crafters of all ages.

Route Monitors and Cheerleaders (10)

Cheer on and help encourage walkers along various parts of the 1k and 5k walk routes. Make sure walkers stay out of the street and help with crossing guard duties.

Caboose (2)

Follow behind the 5k route with the last of our walkers to ensure that every participant makes it back safely. Help pick up signage along the route and bring back to main area to be loaded in the truck.

Clean Up and Tear Down (10)

Remove all signage, stack rental items, break down pop up team canopies, packing up registration area, and loading into the U-haul truck.
