The Confirmation NET Retreat for all parish 7 & 8 graders is Saturday, October 1 from 10:00AM-5:30 Mass. Retreatants, their families and NET missionaries are all invited to the Backyard Bash afterwards for food, music, and fun. There are numerous opportunities for candidates to participate in leading games for children and/or just hanging with friends and family.
Participation in the Retreat is expected but the Backyard Bash is simply an opportunity to extend the fun and time with friends, families & the young adult missionaries. They're energetic and enjoyable company. Hospitality is needed both Friday, Sept 30 and Saturday, Oct 1 for 10-12 young adult missionaries. They are the best house guests ever and are so humble and grateful. If you can house 2 or more, please sign up. The boys and girls do not mix so it'd be at least two missionaries of the same gender and we do not yet have our assigned group, but they're usually half of each. Our family hosted to young men years ago and we hardly knew they were there. They were just grateful to have a place to get a good rest and clean shower. Meager accommodations are needed. Thank you for this kind consideration.
Please sign-up, providing the attendee's name, and if you are able, sign-up to bring a beverage or snack item that can be shared. Homemade items are great and we ask that you consider wrapping or placing portions in baggies for safety and ease of handling. Avoid nuts, please.
Comfortable clothing in layers is encouraged.
Students are encouraged to bring sacramentals such as their Bibles, a rosary, or other prayer items. It is always nice to have one's own, comfortable, personal items on hand.
Confirmation enrollment: During the retreat Mass, Fr. Tom will officially enroll the 8th-12 graders into the preparation process with a special blessing. The 7th graders will be their witnesses and this will be a nice bond for these youth to share.
Social distancing WILL be maintained and masks are highly recommended. Please be in contact with questions, concerns, discussion needs...
