This fall, we have been invited by Reach Potential to build relationships with residents at Caltega Apartments, and a very practical way we will do this is through a food distribution. Cityteam ministries of San Jose will be providing food boxes for the distribution, but see below for a few items we would like to collect in adition to the boxes.
There are many ways you can help! The food distribution will occur on 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 4:00-6:00pm, and we need volunteers for the following:
- Donation of needed essential products that are not provided in the Cityteam boxes (like TP, Paper Towels, soap and baby wipes). Please drop off at the Palo Alto Vineyard Church Office during regular hours (Mon-Fri, 9:00am-3:00pm).
- Truck Driver (requires one hour of training by Cityteam; driver goes to Cityteam in San Jose, picks up the loaded truck, drops pallets off at Caltega and then returns pallets and truck to Cityteam)
- Registration (requires one hour of training by Cityteam, Spanish speaking preferred)
- Set Up, Tear Down and Distribution of food to the residents (requires lifting of food boxes, no Spanish needed)
Parking at Caltega Apartments: there is no guest parking at Caltega and street parking is limited. Target is across the street and is a good option for parking if you cannot find a spot on the street.
