2018 Spooktacular Chase 10th Annual Race - Volunteers Needed!

The Spooktacular Chase will be celebrating its 10th Annual 10k/5k race!!! If you are looking to give back to the community and make connections, we have a great opportunity for you because the Spooktacular Chase 10k/5k Race is back!!! If you missed it last year, come join the fun!  This year promises to be even better than last year's Chase!  

With a variety of exciting and spooktacular positions available, there is a job for everyone.  The Spooktacular Chase 10k/5k is not possible without the help of our amazing volunteers, so come out and get in the spirit to cheer our racers on as they conquer the Haunted Trails of Powder Springs and support Vision Rehabilitation Services of Georgia! 

As a thank you, all volunteers will receive a cool Spooktacular t-shirt and can enjoy our FREE post-race brunch immediately after the race.  We look forward to seeing you at the Chase!

Finish Line Workers (7)

Thank the runners for participating. Remind them about refreshments, the awards ceremony at the end of the race, and to pick up their shirt. Pass out water and medals to runners crossing the finish line.

 

Water Station (11)

Set up water table. Place cups and pour water. Serve water to runners. Pick up all cups thrown down by runners. Bring trash, table, and leftover supplies back to venue. Please make sure there are no cups left on the ground.

 

Videographer

Video the race throughout the morning and during the awards ceremony using own equipment. Video will become the property of VRS.

 

Course Marshal (40)

You will stationed along the course. Cheer runners on as they approach you and make sure they stay on course which will lead them to the finish line. Look out for the runners' safety by letting drivers know there is a charitable event taking place.

 

Volunteer Check-In (2)

Check in volunteers as they arrive.

 

Kreepy Kilo (5)

Assist with the 1k and the kids area

 

Race Day Clean Up (9)

Assist with breakdown of the event. It would be greatly appreciated if volunteers would hang around to help breakdown the event.

 

Assist with Race Day Bag Pick-Up (2)

Needed Thursday, Oct. 19th to assist with providing pre-registered runners their race day bag and t-shirt. Location: TBD

 

Drivers (4)

Drive volunteers to their assigned areas and pick them up after the race using your automobile.

 

Parking Attendants (6)

Guard the parking lot. Ask drivers if they are attending the race. If they are not, inform them that the parking is for the runners. When parking lot is full direct runners to other locations to park.

 

Registration (3)

Check in runners and provide them with their Bib and Race Day Bag.

 

Assist with Brunch (7)

Mark runner's bibs as they enter the brunch, take money at the door of the brunch, make sure tables are cleaned and ready for the next runners to enjoy their meal, assist with restocking food and drinks

 

Race Day Set-Up (6)

Arrive at 6:00 a.m. to help set up for the race
