The Loudoun Emergency Homeless Shelter (LEHS) offers emergency shelter to families, single women and single men. This is a 44-bed shelter with an 89-day program offering intensive case management, life-skills classes and children’s services, as well as providing basic necessities like food and shelter.
Congregation Sha'are Shalom, in partnership with our many friends in the Loudoun community, provides and serves a healthy dinner once each month to shelter residents.
Please try to provide entrees that can feed at least 8 adults. The sides, vegetables, etc should be as large of a serving as possible (a large bowl, a casserole dish, etc). We have made some suggestions but don't let that limit your imagination and culinary skills!! Also, please do not cook with alcohol or bring food that is flavored with alcohol.
Dinner is served at 6:00pm so please be mindful of this time when you deliver your contributions. If you are late, we will not have enough to feed the residents. Thanks for understanding!
1. Drop your contribution at the shelter (19520 Meadowview Ct. S.E, Leesburg, VA 20175 - off of Sycolin Rd. behind the Sheriffs' Office) between 5:00pm - 5:30pm*. Enter through the front door and check at the window where a staff member will direct you to the kitchen. If staff is not present then proceed through the door on the right and around the corner to the kitchen. Leave your food on the counter. If you need to drop your contribution earlier in the day please make sure it is clearly marked with the date and "Dinner".
***Please note the return to the later time.***
2. If you cannot make it to the shelter, please contact the Sha'are Shalom Coordinators for drop off at one of their homes.
