Virginia Conservation Association

September Program- 'Upholstery CSI: Reading the Evidence'.

We are kicking off the new VCA season with this exciting program to be held at Colonial Williamsburg's DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum and will focus on the current exhibition  'Upholstery CSI: Reading the Evidence'. The exhibition explores the pioneering work of Colonial Williamsburg Upholstery Conservator Leroy Graves and is inspired by his landmark 2015 book, 'Early Seating Upholstery: Reading the Evidence', which describes in detail the investigative methods he developed and refined over an award-winning career.

We are delighted that Leroy Graves will give an introduction to the exhibition and has graciously agreed to answer questions from the VCA members.

The program will be followed by a business meeting and a reception with refreshments (provided by VCA) which will be held outside unless there is rain.

Parking is available nearby at the CW Parking lot off S. Nassau Street and Newport Avenue.

Upon arrival at the museum please inform the front desk that you are attending the VCA event.

If you have any questions please contact Maeve Bristow- [email protected]
