The Conococheague Institute Volunteers
As a partner with the CBF's K10Million Trees program, The Conococheague Institute is pleased to announce another Tree Planting. This is another Riparian Stream Planting along the Welsh Run stream that passes through us.
Even though a small stream the impact planted here affects the health of the Chesapeake Bay!
With 150 seedlings and planting supplies provided by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, we are looking for volunteers to assist in our planting activities.
On April 17th and 18th from 10 am to 4 pm, join our staff and volunteers in this endeavor
- Tree Planting Education and Participation - Learn as you plant on the imporatance of trees for our environment
- Join Guest Educators "The Institute" and the 'Waterstriders' in programming throughout the day on Macroinvertebrates
- Colonial Recycling program - Throughout the day lend a hand in our Colonial Garden with our Historic Warden, and construct Wattle Fences, Trelisses and Vegetable supports using nothing more then downed sticks
Ongoing Activities throughout the day, Help is required from all ages, from young water carriers to wise sage experts.
Note:
Tools and training will be provided, but if you have a shovel please bring it. Gloves are recommended. Social distancing and COVID safety will be followed.
